  Camp Mujigae

OUR HISTOry

Camp Mujigae will celebrate its 35th Anniversary this year!

Picture
In 1986, a  group of parents began planning the first Camp Mujigae (which means Camp  Rainbow), serving 25 children over a two-day period.

The programs had grown to service over 300 children annually from infants to 18 years old. Camp now runs for 4 nights for the senior Groups (campers entering 6
th grade and up), 2 days for Explorers (grades 3-5), and Discovery (entering kindergarten through 2nd) and 1 day for Curiosity Campers (children 3-5 years old) and our newest group, Rising Stars, is also a 1 day camp for children 2 & under). Camp, this year will start with a Family Activity Day (Saturday June 29th) organized by the Korean Presbyterian Church. Family Day includes cultural festivities, Korean entertainment, Korean food, a store filled with Korean items and much socializing. For a number of years in a row 800 plus camps, family members and citizens from the community have attended Family Day.

Held at the School at Northeast, camp includes two days of classes plus a family picnic held at Central Park in Schenectady.  Our annual  Korean celebration  brings together cultural  festivities, Korean entertainment, Korean food, and lots of fun! Hundreds of people (Campers, families, alumni, and the community) come to celebrate Family Day.

Camp Mujigae would not  exist without the generosity and support from:
The Korean Presbyterian  Church of Albany, which organizes and provides the cultural program.
Students from Sookmyung Women's  University in Seoul, South Korea, who also provide classes for our campers.
Korean Adoption Services, The Ministry of Health and Welfare Affairs for financially helping Mujigae.
